Summer work and vacation!
As some say... happy fall y'all! As the pendulum begins to swing back towards the cooler months, we here at the Fleeing Artists aren't quite ready to say goodbye to summer just yet!
We had a very busy summer producing three Shakespeare productions! We began the summer performing Titus Andronicus, directed by Bethanne Duffy. A fully realized production sharing a gruesome story of familial honor and revenge. The production made audience members laugh and squirm in their seats - not an easy task! We followed this up with our yearly, free, outdoor performance. Taming of the Shrew, with Bezza LeGrave and Alex Metalsky at the helm, was performed at Lincoln Park in Kenosha. The play of intrigue, disguises, romance, and sibling rivalry performed in the beautiful flower gardens with the setting sun as the backdrop. Finally, we had the honor to join the Kenosha Tall Ships as we set sail aboard the Red Witch performing a 5 woman version of Shakespeare's Tempest, adapted and directed by Alex Metalsky. This sea-fearing production brought magic and laughter to audiences with beautiful Lake Michigan as our playground.
We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support and well wishes as we tackled our Shakespeare packed summer and the start of our second season! Though we have been on a short vacation, the Fleeing Artists board has been meeting to discuss a few changes, and most importantly, the announcement of the second half our second season! Stay tuned as we announce our shows...if you can't wait consider this: original locally produced scripts, a spirited take on a beloved classic, and a modern show guaranteed to make you crack a smile.
We have already begun plans for the start of our third season, and the return of Summer Shakespeare and Classics series for the 2020 summer season, because summer is never really that far off, is it?
